Install guide
How to install Feed Cleaner on Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Firefox for Android and Orion
Feed Cleaner is free and needs no account. Pick your browser below, and it will be blocking Pinterest ads in under a minute.
Desktop
Google Chrome
The standard install. Chrome installs Feed Cleaner from the Chrome Web Store in one click.
Add to ChromeOpens the Chrome Web Store
How to install
- Open the Feed Cleaner listing on the Chrome Web Store.
- Click Add to Chrome, then Add extension in the confirmation dialog.
- To keep it to hand, click the puzzle-piece icon in the toolbar and pin Feed Cleaner to it.
- Open pinterest.com. Ads, promoted pins and shopping clutter disappear straight away, and the grid closes up behind them.
Nothing to configure. Every Pro feature is unlocked for your first three days automatically.
Desktop
Mozilla Firefox
Feed Cleaner is listed on addons.mozilla.org, so Firefox installs and updates it like any other add-on.
Add to FirefoxOpens the Firefox Add-ons
How to install
- Open the Feed Cleaner listing on addons.mozilla.org.
- Click Add to Firefox, then Add to accept the permissions.
- If Firefox offers optional permissions, take them or skip them. Ad blocking works either way.
- Open pinterest.com and the ads are gone.
Mozilla signs and hosts the add-on, so updates arrive through Firefox's own add-on manager.
Desktop
Microsoft Edge
Edge runs on Chromium, so it installs Feed Cleaner from the Chrome Web Store once you allow other stores.
Add to ChromeOpens the Chrome Web Store
How to install
- In Edge, open `edge://extensions` in the address bar.
- Turn on Allow extensions from other stores at the bottom of the page, and choose Allow when Edge warns you that it has not verified the store.
- Open the Feed Cleaner listing on the Chrome Web Store and click Add to Chrome.
- Confirm Add extension, then open pinterest.com.
Microsoft does not review extensions that come from the Chrome Web Store, so you may be asked to confirm the permissions twice.
Android
Firefox for Android
The same addons.mozilla.org listing serves Firefox on Android, so there is nothing extra to download.
Add to Firefox for AndroidOpens the Firefox Add-ons
How to install
- Install Firefox from Google Play if you have not already.
- Open the Feed Cleaner listing on addons.mozilla.org inside Firefox. The page offers an Add to Firefox for Android button.
- Tap Add to Firefox for Android, then Add.
- Or tap the menu, choose Add-ons, and search for Feed Cleaner in Firefox's add-on manager.
- Open pinterest.com and the ads are removed.
Firefox on Android supports a narrower set of extension APIs than the desktop, so some Pro tools behave differently there.
iOS and iPadOS
Orion for iPhone and iPad
Orion runs Chrome and Firefox extensions on iOS, which is currently the only way to use an extension on an iPhone.
Get OrionOpens the App Store
How to install
- Install Orion from the App Store. It needs iOS or iPadOS 17 or later, and no account.
- Open Orion and tap the ••• menu in the bottom-right corner.
- Choose Settings, then turn on Chrome extensions in the Extensions group.
- Visit the Feed Cleaner listing on the Chrome Web Store inside Orion and tap Add to Chrome. You can also tap •••, then Extensions, and use the + button.
- Open pinterest.com in Orion and the ads are removed.
Orion implements the same WebExtensions API as Chrome and Firefox, but Apple limits which APIs any non-Safari browser may use, so iOS extension support is still beta. Safari extensions do not work in Orion; Feed Cleaner is a WebExtension, so it does.
Brave, Opera, Vivaldi and other Chromium browsers
These browsers run on the same engine as Chrome, so they install Feed Cleaner from the Chrome Web Store with no separate listing of their own. Follow the Chrome steps above and nothing else changes.
Install questions
- Which browsers does Feed Cleaner support?
- Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi and other Chromium browsers, Firefox for Android, and Orion on iPhone and iPad. It does not run inside the Pinterest mobile app.
- Is there a Firefox version?
- Yes. Feed Cleaner is listed on addons.mozilla.org, and that one listing installs it on both Firefox on desktop and Firefox for Android.
- Why does Edge ask to allow extensions from other stores?
-
Edge only installs its own reviewed add-ons by default. Feed Cleaner is published on the Chrome Web Store, so you
turn on Allow extensions from other stores in
edge://extensionsonce, then install it like any other extension. - Can I use it on my iPhone?
- Yes, through Orion. Apple does not allow Chrome extensions in Safari, so you install Orion from the App Store, switch on Chrome extensions in its settings, then add Feed Cleaner from the Chrome Web Store inside Orion.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Ad blocking is free forever with no account, no card and no tracking. A three-day Pro trial unlocks the extra tools automatically and needs nothing from you.
